Grade 1 and dragon tattoo!

Last month, on the 7th of September, Ghadi went to school, as a first grader!

It's fair to say, I was way more excited than him!

 buying books,

tagging names,

preparing supplies...

 and here we are!

yes, starting now we have no school uniform!

no, it's not a nightmare,

I prepared 5 pants and 5 t-shirts, and had all that agreed by Ghadi, and now we have a dressing plan!

we also have our meal plan,

so no morning debates about "what sandwich am I having today? who says I want Labneh?"

plus, Ghadi is now allowed to take money and buy from the kiosk once a week!

and we can say, this is the GREATEST hit about being in elementary school (according to him!)

in addition to the fact that the bookcase is just under the desk (that comes next in the list of the most exciting things about CP -that is grade 1)

settled in class,

and extremely happy, cuz he and his best friends happen to be at the same section!

at the end of the day, still radiant face and happy at heart,

  don't wonder what he is trying to say here... he was reminding me to buy him a tattoo...

yes..

It's been couple days he mentioned he wanted a tattoo..that his friend at summer camp had one...and I promised him i'd get it when we start school... (yeah, just procrastinating...)

and here we are..AT SCHOOL..what are waiting for mom?

hope this year will bring you the best my beloved.

when I saw how his friends were fighting upon the seat next to him, while another mom, persuaded the boy sitting facing him to move to another table, so that her daughter would sit facing Ghadi, 

my heart went so big and I knew...it's not because I'm his mom, no.. 

this boy is simply so sweet...

The first in a series of recap posts!

so it's August...

but woooosh...let's go back in time just to recap the summer 2013 and all the major events until now!

this is the first of couple posts just to revive the previous months and to ensure all is documented in this little diary of ours!

and starting by June, the end of month marked the end of school and by school we mean Kindergarten... next year Ghadi will be in Grade 1 which is a huge milestone!

Last day at school we had a little fiesta at their class, 

their art works were displayed, 

 kids offered us some class-made lemonade and treats.

 

no, nothing is wrong with his mouth, he just had a large piece of cake that he won't let go for a photo! 

  

we are very excited for the next year, hope it will be the first step in a life full of success my big boy!

Grande Section B!

Ghadi in his new "tablier"

I just can't skip posting about his first day at school!

Just like every year,

Ghadi shows no single sign of anxiety or fear

he's smiling all the time, engaging in class activities and enjoying being finally there!

and also like every year, I couldn't help myself and I had wet eyes,

seeing him growing up and turning to a big boy, in "Grande Section"...

Now to be fair, 

this blog is to document EVERTHING...

Including the teacher's impression about Ghadi which I heard last week.

we had parents reunion, and it turned out that Ghadi is not being the ideal little boy!

he's got three red points because his space at the bookcase was not well organized!

he sings aloud while they do worksheets

and he's a bit lousy and doesn't pay so much attention to his handwriting!

but she also mentioned that he has bright eyes, he absorbs all information quickly and that he is smart!

I was standing there, hearing what she was saying and smiling...

yes, smiling...

hope I will always be smiling at such reunions Ghadi!

Marmar, visited us 2 months ago!

I almost lost track of all the belated events i wanted to blog about...
one of them is the visit of Marmar at the end of June...
It's a character created by the Arabic teacher at school, and it is inspired from teh children book "Marmar", talking about a little girl who does lots of naughty stuff at home, and always apologies to her mom...

so every pupil has to receive her for a weekend and this is cute... she accompanied us everywhere...
we took many photos, and Ghadi helped by sorting them out in Marmar's diary book.

School Kermess, with 2 BOYS!

we were invited and we decided to go with both kids.

Ghadi enjoyed it a LOT!

then he met his friends and had so much fun as usual!

Mother's Day 2012

No we don't celebrate Mother's Day on April,

But last month I was so lazy, and busy, and lazy

so I'll try to catch up all the previous events in the following posts!

oh March was so great it could beat any other March in my life!

Mothers' Day, Sary's Birthday-the Gathering- my Sisters' visit, our trips....

Starting with Mothers' Day, just like the previous year, 

we celebrated it at Ghadi's school, 

we were invited and all kids were asked to wear white t-shirts

they sang and danced and expressed why they each kid loves his/her mother 

(they were supposed to give many answers, but the dominant statement was: I love my mom because she brings me toys!)

ok!

I find it funny how all mothers are up, holding their phones-cameras

take it easy moms, it's just a cute dance!~ 

Ghadi's Ear infection, again & school feedback!

Ghadi is having his third Otitis media within 4 months!
It all started in November and then we fell into non-stop mid-ear inflammation caused by the fluids behind the eardrum. It's not going away and it's causing hearing defect every time it's infected.
I had to pass by his school today to explain his situation, his teacher was relieved to know the cause because she noticed with another teacher that Ghadi doesn't respond sometimes when she calls his name...

On the other hand, her feedback about Ghadi was more than I expected.

Every mom would say her kids are brilliant, but i'm proudly saying with all the modesty in the world, that "Ghadi is having excellent visual memory and he's so dynamic and cooperative at class."-quoted :)

yest he's not into team spirit yet.

he doesn't like to share much

and he's not patient enough when it comes to drawing or coloring... 

hmmmmmmmmmmmm....

we've got to do something about that!

Back to School- MS B

Today is first day at school!
Ghadi is in KG1 (aka  moyenne section),
he was so happy when he woke up in the morning
and so excited!
when we arrived, i was surprised to know that they shuffle kids as they grow up (for non convincing reasons!)
so Ghadi will have new friends...
most kids were crying, because of new faces of course
and to our great relief, and good luck,
Ghadi's best friend's name  (Adam.C.) was listed  in the same class!
i left Ghadi, he was sending me kisses and so busy playing with his -new- classmates...

it's 7:30 P.M
and both kids are asleep........

I LOOOOOOOOVE SCHOOL!!!!

Back To School - Too Good 2 b true...

I wonder how many times in the coming years I'll be posting with this same title!

Ghadi was more than happy 

to return to school

this reflects his satisfaction and that he is having great times!

hope it'll always be this way.

Spectacle de la fin de l'annee! - end of the year show

yes...

the first year in my boy's school life passed so quickly!

and i can say that it was just as expected...an amazing year, full of surprises.

Ghadi adapted quickly, made friends, has a "best friend"about whom he keeps talking!

i can not say that his teachers adore him, I know my boy, he's not the cute-nice-lovable-emotional-extroverted-kind of boys,

he's an active, dynamic, disorderly boy.

his teachers often told me that he plays when he has to sit still, he makes plans and distract his fellows...

all this is just making me the happiest mom! many would disagree, but I like this character and i like the fact that he is Not an obedient calm boy...

(now let's wait and see what would i say about this character in 5-6 years!)

  

 back to show, we were there On time, and i have to admit that Jamil did it! he WAS on time, maybe for the first time since....eternity? I was so glad and we sat in the second row, ghadi was already there, on stage, his eyes searching for us, and then came the wide smile when he spotted us!
and the feeling?

oh, it is one of those situation that can not be simply described!
it was overwhelming!
ok, i didn't cry (maybe cuz i was too distracted by shooting him!)
i loved it, loved the dances.
He also participated in a short play (the story of the little red hen)... he was the lamb!!!! and it is to mention that he and five other classmates were selected among 30 kids!

It was unforgettable and surely a Photo with his best friend is a Must!!

First Day at Preschool!

Ghadi started preschool yesterday

Yes, we finished the nursery stage and began a new one

A stage that will shape his life for the next 15 year. Therefore choosing the school was not easy at all.

It all started in December 2008! Yes, we made a list of schools we found suitable, sent registration forms and did interviews… it sounds so absurd and so surreal now, I know, for a barely 2 years old!

But here we are

Last week we went for two days, 2 hours adaptation

As expected Ghadi went along well, played and enjoyed his time.
