Otitis, Y U Come back?

After an epic week with my sister and her kids, Ghadi came from school yesterday, complaining from his ear... AGAIN
we thought it would pass, but we heard him just before midnight struggling and crying from pain,
so next is the usual procedure...
called the doctor
Jamil ran to the pharmacy
the recommended pain reliever is not in stock
called the doctor again
Jamil ran to another pharmacy
and Ghadi struggling and trying not to cry...
at last he got the Advil and fell asleep

we'll have to take him tomorrow to the Doctor...
I think that we'll have to get these tubes into his eardrum cuz it's becoming an endless trauma...

Back to last week,
It was awesome by all means!!!
Live Music, a Rahbani Play, Trips to Faraya snowing, to Jbeil and Chair lift in Jounieh, hiking in Zgharta...
and above all, amazing time and hanging out with my lovely nieces!
all details and photos will follow this week...
here's a sneak peak of our hiking in Zgharta - north lebanon

A Cake & lots of Whipped Cream!

Ghadi & I had great time last week,
we baked a cake together
and Ghadi was a great help
while Sary watched calmly
I had to go to the kitchen while we were adding the whipped cream
when I came back, traces of cream where on Ghadi's face

I asked him if he tasted the cream, he said noooooo
& he posed for a photo
(which is unusual! maybe to distract me)
then I told him it is OK, he can taste it!
& it was definitely yummy!

oh lovely March!

I know
as usual
It's been long time I didn't post anything
but March was so overwhelming
that I can barely focus on what to post and what to tell and how to bring up all the festivities into this tiny blog!

Sary's first Birthday...
Mother's Day at school
Sisters visiting and nieces sleeping over and many many laughs
my second Blogoversary

& to top it all: it's Spring!
yes
Spring is in the air people!
and I can smell it, and feel it!

I know Autumn is my favorite season, ever,
but Autumn has always that romantic melancholic background music
while this season is all about packing winter clothes and searching new places to explore!
it's about orange flair and lemonade
no matter how cloudy it is
still the sun is warmer
the birds in the tree facing our house are all excited that you can hear them celebrate each morning!

many posts about this month are to come...but not now
now it's time to prepare for the best weekend this year, three days off
with the best company, the amazing sister, and her gorgeous kids!

just a little news I cannot keep: Sary had his first walk 2 days ago,
it was just couple steps
but my heart was jumping with each one!

no photos?
not for now
keeping the fun for next week!

My Wallpaper

This is the best thing I got from Ikea so far,
A hanger where I can post and hang the favorites, the actual and the updates of our postcards,
Ghadi's graphics and my favorite cards
at school
on father's day 2011
a card I received from my younger sis, I so much love it!

The best bunch of flowers I ever had!

Last month on Valentine's we decided to take kids out, weather was nice after many cold gloomy days, so we headed to Sanayeh park
Ghadi played football with his father
I Love to see them playing together
it reminds me how lucky I am having a boy, who would share his father's interests

the Other boy was calmly sitting in his trolley,
enjoying the voices of kids and birds
Then I spotted them
and here we are, the most adorable flowers from my boy, saying: "Eid Hobb Sa'id! (happy Love Day)"
my day and my whole life is full of love because you exist!

Ghadi's Ear infection, again & school feedback!

Ghadi is having his third Otitis media within 4 months!
It all started in November and then we fell into non-stop mid-ear inflammation caused by the fluids behind the eardrum. It's not going away and it's causing hearing defect every time it's infected.
I had to pass by his school today to explain his situation, his teacher was relieved to know the cause because she noticed with another teacher that Ghadi doesn't respond sometimes when she calls his name...
On the other hand, her feedback about Ghadi was more than I expected.
Every mom would say her kids are brilliant, but i'm proudly saying with all the modesty in the world, that "Ghadi is having excellent visual memory and he's so dynamic and cooperative at class."-quoted :)
yest he's not into team spirit yet.
he doesn't like to share much
and he's not patient enough when it comes to drawing or coloring...
hmmmmmmmmmmmm....
we've got to do something about that!

The little philosopher...

Ghadi: " Mom, Do we change our names when we grow up?"
Me: "....., of course not!
don't you like your own name my dear?"
Ghadi :"mbala (I do like it)"
Then he falls in deep thinking gazing into nowhere....

Random Facts

The photo above gives clear quick hints to three facts:
Fact 1-this guy, (the older on
e) is the most adorable father
I know many many mothers will assume they have married the greatest husband-friend-lover
But I will humbly say, that I am constantly surprised about the amount of tenderness this man is able to express, give and transmit to his children
Jamil is very supporting,
I mean, lets’ admit, he wakes up in the night with me, holding our baby, singing to him at 3:00AM while I prepare the milk bottle
he would walk down our baby tens of times holding his tiny hands encouraging him to keep walking and supporting his lovely steps
he would go search for a toy, requested by our older son, he would search in 2-3-4 toy stores until he find it (I would NOT do that!)
he would sit next to him, watching him play or play with him
he would put him to bed at night, whispering prayers in his ears
he would do ANYTHING, literally anything that would make our sons happy
I’m so lucky and so happy I have him by my side
His heart is so big and so warm we all fit perfectly in there!

Fact 2- sary’s hair is only getting uglier
I know he’s born with little hair
But those are growing in such a strange way… he’s gonna need a haircut very soon!

Fact 3- that Yuppala/jumper/marche-bébé or whatever u name it, shown at the left corner of the photo,
That is a survivor!
It belonged to my 17-year old niece!
It has been used by her, her sister and borother when they visited Beirut, by Ghadi, by my neighbor’s son, and now by Sary
And still, as tough as ever!
Not a scratch and flawless!
I wonder now that Sary is done with it (he refuses to sit in it anymore!) what would be its next destination!
