Ghadi comes from school with all sorts of words
Words he learns in class
But also words he learns from fellows at recess and from
even older fellows in the school bus
2 days ago he was
telling me about something and when I expressed exclamation he said: “wehiet
Allah heik sar” –which could be translated to "I swear to God this is what happened"
I rolled my eyes and I asked him where did he learn this
expression, he said: Karim says it all the time!
And I asked him to not to use again because I believe him and no
need to swear
Then he asked me : what does it mean
And I explained to him that people use this expression to
assure that what they say is true
and since that you don’t lie-I told him- so no need to use it
“tab iza ilit
wehiet el djejeh”
WHAT?
„teta said it is ok to say this“
“do NOT ever say this again, we swear to God or we don’t
swear at all, which I prefer”
Silence
Then he said,
“tab fina n2oul bass wehiet??”
I starred at him, wondering whether to laugh or to frrown
he saved me and said
“tab la2 ma fina n2oula…baleha!”
It is weird how parenting could bring you the highest levels of stress and comedy at the same conversation and in span of seconds...
Now it is almost end of school
And next year Ghadi will move to grade 1 which means more
responsibility and much more effort
So I will not think about it right now, I’d rather think
about the promising summertime
Beach time
Fun time
And the best I’d do is starting the countdown to our
vacation starting next week!
Planet Discovery
some Ice Cream
Basket Ball
Experimenting soap bubble
Barbecue
Art Attack
Washing our car
Roller blades- a gift from aunt Jumana
and yes...driving..or pretending to crazily driving my car
and that was the round up from May-June!
