A special post, for a Very special one

On this special day,
here a post dedicated to very special one

To my father
on his birthday...

I will not try to summarize his journey, or mine
I will not mention what he did and how he lived

But I really want that my kids know something about their grandfather
When they grow up, and when time is suitable to tell them about these facts
I’m afraid life would be too hectic
I’m afraid I would forget
I’m afraid I won’t have the courage to talk about all this
So this is to you boys
Please read it carefully and live the moments and feel the love I have for this great man

It’s not going to be a biography
But just simple facts, flashbacks, and memorable moments

Tough Week!

How would you define a Tough Week?
for a full time working mom,
a tough week would be clearly defined by the following:
2 sick boys, jumping on the Bed!

yes,
one was attacked by a virus causing high fever for couple days...
the second was attacked by a virus from another family, causing severe bronchitis and a really bad cough!

yes, this sounds really bad,
but the hardest, or the best part was that both kids were full of energy, though the fever, and the cough!
running all around, shouting, literally jumping on the bed, and me, trying to put cold pads over Ghadi's forehead, and struggling, going through a huge battle to drop the medicine into Sary's thought...
did I also mention that Sary and medicine are no friends at all!
he cries, yells, spits the fluid out, and even vomit in order to prevent this 2.5mm of Mucosolvant to find its way in!
they are both better now,
I know it happens,
but please,
evil viruses,
attack us one by one!

Our Trip to Farayya!

During my sisters' visit in March, we managed to go to Farayya Mzar, the Snowing hottest location in Lebanon, where one could enjoy skiing, sightseeing, driving skidoo, sliding luges or simply snowshoeing!
we reached one of the highest spots in the area... the air was so fresh... and icy! brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
the Best part was that all this fun could never be the same without my sis and lovely nieces! yes, she's taller than me... I accept this fact, and kind of like it actually ;)
they had this raccoon-woolen hat, it made us laugh so much, and I know I'll always laugh when  I see those photos!
The skidoo was a thrilling experience, rolling through those pure snowy mountains!

and finally the luge was a blast, we had hell of fun (and couple bruises on the back)!!!
the slope!
the Landing...
leftovers!
such a great trip with the greatest company!
hope we'll do it again next year with the kids!

Electricity Shortage Vs. Creativity!

I'm really sad to mention this, and I hope that years later, when my kids read this they won't realize what I'm talking about,
but here in Lebanon, we suffer often from Electricity shortage...
often, that is like,
three hours daily, (in Beirut)...
People living outside the border of administrative Beirut, are suffering 6 to 12 hours of
electricity shortage!
so
It has been like that since, I don't remember when!
Actually, since I was born, or maybe earlier...
So
during the absence of electricity we have to survive without TV or DVD or Internet or other stuff!
looking at the bright side, (the sarcastic way),
these hours have always gathered the family together!
when I used to live with my parents, we often headed to the living room, and that was the best opportunity to gather as a family, to discuss issues, to chat and to exchange tales or jokes!
yes it is that cool!
once teh electricity is back, we'd jump each to his room, to continue studying, or whatever we were doing!

sadly enough, this is still the case until this moment!
last week, we had to spend an afternoon at home with No Electricity,
we gathered in kids'room
Ghadi was playing with his old play-gun
and we noticed how it glowed in the dark!
We hardly noticed them during the day...
I showed him the above photo in the camera,
then Ereka!  it was Ghadi's idea! he ran to my room, and decided we shall shoot each others while turning the gun in the air!
 and it was hilarious!
 here it goes!
we spent the next hour playing and turning the gun in the air while shooting without flash!
and the results were superb!
then it was my turn and Ghadi also took several nice shots!

Then electricity was back...
Ghadi ran to his TV
I ran to do some cooking
thinking of the next Art attack!

THE Haircut I did to my poor boy!

Sary was born just like his brother : with very little hair
The hair he had when he was few hours old fell down gradually to end up at 6 months old with my favorite haircut for boys-dads-grandpas-EVER:

the BOLD
yes, the ANGRY BOLD TOUGH GUY
I just love this look!!!!!
but then later, his hair grew with some weird unorganized way!
the middle area was growing while the sides remain short...
ekhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
usually it's Jamil who takes Ghadi for a haircut (boys's Issue!)
center;"> but when it comes to Sary's hair, he was pretty satisfied of how it looked like!
satisfied with the One Year Old Sary with the scary messy fringe!
and it was getting messier day after day...
and month after month

Mornings like these!

Sary is teething... and it's causing so much pain that i get tired from getting up and going back to bed
so it ends up by bringing him and laying him beside me on the bed,
and it gets so serious in the early morning when he starts expanding his territory
so I have go back to Ghadi's bedroom... and give up my bed to this little monster!
