Crocky!

Mazen's newest pet... a friendly baby crocodile!
Ghadi was so excited and fearless
I'm so proud of this boy!

my other monster is developing quickly
he is repeating many words by now
and much more interested in reading stories and songs!
still the funniest part is when he imitates his brother...
Hilarious!

Hitting the white mountains.

2 weeks ago we decided on a quick trip to the mountains
we packed our stuff, gloves, hats, snacks
and up we went!

Kids were more than excited, it's our first trip to the snowy mountain  this winter, and the moment their little feet hit the ground, they were in constant motion I couldn't freeze them a second to take a proper photo!

Finally we got to try out our new slide

 Jamil and Ghadi...oh the laughter...
I also had my turn with our cousin Y.B
weather was nice and we chose a very nice spot to do the most important mission:
 our snow ball fight

 all ready?

Jamil distracted kids with the snow balls mission and when I looked for him after a while...
I spotted this...!

I bribed them to take this photo
I told them they can hit me with snow balls while I'll stand still
and so I did!
 the Excitement!
snow angel!

then it was about time our little man wakes up
and through his first encounter with snow, he clearly expressed his annoyance and that he did NOT like that white wet substance!
even though Jamil tried to entertain him
 sliding
 but...no
he doesn't like it.. naaaah

the boys were trying to manage their own business...

 which apparently didn't work,
until uncle Bassem showed up and saved them!
then I suggested we shall make a snowman
which was actually a hard mission since the snow was crystallized and we were all running out of energy

 and here it is...
a snowman?
kind of...
for this last photo I bribed them with biscuits and a delicious snack in the car!
here...the warriors just before taking off...
surely thinking what a wonderful time we've spent and when are we coming back again!

Banning Nutella at home!

I brought this with me today... to office... why?
Ghadi has been staying at home for three days now.
schools are on strike, therefore he's spending part of the day with the nanny, then mom comes and picks him up for the afternoon.
usually Ghadi is allowed to have one Nutella sandwich every other day.
2 days ago he had one. yesterday he was supposed to have a labneh or cheese sandwish.
he asked the nanny to bring the Nutella Jar from the upper kitchen closet.
he asked her to open it
he took a spoon..
he asked the nanny to leave the kitchen.
she resisted a bit
then she gave it up and left him alone... in the kitchen... with the Nutella jar... and a spoon....
oooh, the creepiest nightmare (for me) the ultimate heaven (for him)
he didn't only devoured the amount he wanted... he dropped some on the floor carpet,
he tried to wipe them out with tissues... then with water...
oh the mess... I can only imagine...
when i came back, the nanny was on the edge of crying...
and Ghadi was extremely excited while explaining how the nutella flew from the spoon on th eway to his mouth, (he was telling the story with hand gestures and jumping and red cheeks...)
I couldn't but smile...
then before bedtime I explained calmly that what he did was wrong,
and that he'll be having labneh sandwich for the next couple days as breakfast and supper...
he nodded, and whispered in my ears: eh bas i said Sorry to zouzou - our nanny-
and I whispered back: eh, it's good to say sorry, but it doesn't make me forget that you did something wrong
he nodded again... and said: I know...

A confession of hate!

Theoretically, February is a promising month,
It’s just before spring and it shall be the end of the tough winter and marking the approaching start of good weather …
Three beloved people celebrate their Birthdays during this month…
It’s 3 days less than the month before and the month after…

but all this can’t help changing my feelings toward this month!
I just Hate it!
Yes February, I hate you and I don’t know exactly why…

Maybe my anticipation for March, makes this month feels like a really looong one!
Maybe it’s me, tired of the cold, the storms, and the layers of clothes…
Or my eyes, tired of the grey skies…

While waiting for this Feb 2013th  to end, I will be planning for March!
We’ll be celebrating Sary’s Birthday, the Spring and hopefully lots and lots of color Blue!

I don’t like to end my posts in a melancholic tone,
so I’ll just leave you with this, taken last Saturday at the park!

January round up!

Sary is witnessing a stage of quick development!
he started to say words I can understand, instead of the constant babbling,
he knows what he wants, and he knows how to GET what he wants...
and he's imitating every single activity his brother does...
and here I shall say  we are so lucky that Ghadi is a relatively a quiet peaceful child
(most of the times...)...
(well, sometimes...)

I am grateful that January passed
it was one of those creepy months...
Sary had  tonsils infection... had to  treat it with antibiotics (Augmentin)
and all the accompanying symptoms were there: fever, cough, running nose,
he was fussy and cranky..

and when all that is over, my sister pushed me to stop giving him the pacifier...
and so I did, I threw it away and I was preparing myself for the de-pacifying stage...which was really TOUGH!
Sary didn't cope well with it...
it's been two weeks now, but he is still waking up at night, asking for a bottle of milk
(which happened three times last night)
and he seems like punishing us!

otherwise, it's getting so funny at home,
Sary repeats unexpected words and it makes us laugh and wonder and forget all other sorrows!
he sings along
and he loves to dance, to run, to jump!

and one other hobby: he loves to BREAK stuff!
he snitched my JustCavalli and in one second he turned it into a piece of junk,
the maintenance guy shook his head in despair and whispered: " sorry ma'am, this cannot be fixed!:

Ghadi is a totally different story!
He is getting more responsible and enjoying every single minute at school.
and still enjoys playing with is cars!
oh, and we are hosting these fellows every weekend!
he brings them from school, and we try our best to terurn them on monday, ALIVE!

we attended his friend's birthday last week...

and on our way back home he said:
"mama, please remind me to take invitation cards to the burger king on September 27th !"
and I was like: "Whaaaaat?"
he said:
"yes, to invite my friends to my birthday on 28th!"
*that was sooo cute!*
